Michael Lilley

I have been an IW Councillor since 2017 originally for Ryde East and now the renamed Ryde Appley and Elmfield Ward. I successfully campaigned for the name change. I represent the ward also on Ryde Town Council and was Mayor of Ryde from 2019 to 2023.

I live in the ward with my wife, Julia, and dog Benson. I am a retired mental health professional and grandfather. I am active in the voluntary sector and currently co-chair of IW Voluntary Sector Forum  a trustee of Community Action IW and Chair of Ryde Community Development Trust. I am the IW Council Mental Health Champion.

I am an environmental and human rights campaigner and support campaigns to stop sewage being discharged in the Solent and preservation of green space. I have successfully led campaigns to stop both primary schools in the ward from closing, the reopening of Appley Tower, and the establishment of Network Ryde Youth service. My election campaign is vote for  local man with good track record.
