The Liberal Democrat candidate for Brading and St Helens is John Graney. John is a retired Legal Adviser. Before that he was an officer in the Royal Navy. He has lived in Brading since 1993 and has been a Town Councillor since 2017.
John believes that the Isle of Wight is a great place to live but could be better and also that what we have needs to be protected. He is also convinced that the council needs to convince central government that we do actually live on an island and that the promised “Island Deal” is not to fund major projects but simply to level the playing field so that the council can carry out its responsibilities and duties unhampered by the extra expenditure that mainland councils do not have.
