I’m David Llewellyn and I am the Reform UK candidate for Shanklin South.
I am a proud resident of Shanklin South and have spent my life working hard, supporting my
community, and gaining a wide range of experience across many different industries. Now retired, I
am committed to using that experience and the extra time I now have, to give something back and
help shape a positive future for our area.
Throughout my working life, I developed a strong understanding of the challenges facing local
people and businesses. This has given me a practical, common-sense approach to problem solving
and decision making.
Having previously been a school governor and a parish councillor, I have experience in how to
work closely with residents, listen to concerns, and take action on issues that matter most – whether
that’s supporting local schools, improving services, trying to save money or protecting the character
of local communities.
Living in Shanklin, I care deeply about maintaining its unique charm while ensuring it remains a
great place for families, young people, and older residents alike. I believe in being accessible,
accountable, and approachable, and I am always ready to listen.
If elected, I will work hard to represent everyone fairly, stand up for local interests, and make sure
our community’s voice is heard, try to find ways of saving money and providing true value for
money. My focus will always be on delivering practical common sense results and supporting a
stronger, more connected Shanklin and in turn the Isle of Wight.
