Having lived in Sandown for over 18 years, it’s been my privilege to represent you for the past 9 years. As an Independent I have the freedom to be your Community Leader and Champion, tackling the issues that matter to you without having to toe any “party line”.
Top Priority One is the regeneration of our town by taking action to hold owners to account for derelict properties and unused land. Working closely with our Senior Enforcement Officer this is starting to have an effect.
In addition I’ll be seeking to make improvements to our high street, such as pedestrian zones, to boost the local economy, by working with placemaking partners.
Top Priority Two is Improving services and Community Infrastructure by continuing the ongoing work with the Community Safety Partnership, the Police and Registered Housing Providers to tackle the root causes of the anti-social behaviour associated with homelessness. The police have launched a new initiative through the Community Safety Partnership to address the root causes. Increasing provision for Youth Services.
Top Priority Three is to improve access to GP appointments, dentists, and a range of health services by continuing to work closely with partners from the Primary Care Network and the NHS Foundation Trust responsible for Community Services, Mental Health Services and Learning Disabilities.
