“Together, lets unlock Ryde’s potential”
Dear Neighbours.
As a Ryde North West resident and local businessman, I’m standing as the Reform UK candidate in the upcoming county council elections on May the 7th to unlock our beautiful town’s potential.
I am, as I’m sure you are, frustrated that after five years of broken promises from the current administration we seem to have made little progress in terms of the regeneration of our town. Public buildings such as the Town Hall still remain empty and areas such as George Street need urgent solutions by residents and for residents.
Also, as a local businessman I know how important it is that our independent shops and hospitality businesses have the support of the Council especially when as sectors they are struggling particularly when it comes to changes to parking restrictions.
I am passionate about our town and speaking to fellow residents and local businesses it is clear we need a fresh start after five years of managed decline and wasted resources that should be available to us all.
I’d like to see the return of the town’s public buildings such as Ryde Theatre for community use but with a costed business plan that gives value to local taxpayers.
I’d like to see the creation of community led traffic and transport plan putting an end to endless road closures that affect residents and businesses.
And I would make a clear commitment to never let parking meters be installed on Union Street and the surrounding area as well as working with residents to find a solution to perennial problems such as the bins on George Street and the resurfacing that is urgently needed on the High street.
