My name is Paul Williams and I am the Reform UK candidate for Osborne Ward in the May
local elections.
I was born in Newport on the Isle of Wight and grew up on a farm, which gave me a strong
work ethic from an early age. I later trained and qualified as an electrician and spent time in
the Midlands for my education before returning to the Island 26 years ago. Since then, I’ve
lived in various parts of the Isle of Wight, with strong links to the Osborne area.
I’m married with two children and four grandchildren, and family is at the heart of
everything. I currently work as an HSE and Customer Support Manager for a local business
which is located in the ward. In this role I train and support customers around the world,
always aiming to represent the company in a professional and practical way.
I’m standing to be a councillor because I care deeply about our Island and its future. We’re
seeing more litter, worsening roads, and vital services and amenities being lost—yet council
tax keeps rising. That’s not good enough. Residents deserve better value for money and less
waste.
The Isle of Wight has huge potential, but we need to act now to protect and improve it for
future generations.
Outside of work, I’m a keen runner. I regularly take part in marathons, half marathons and
local races, and I continue to support my running club as minute secretary.
