I am a local business owner, former Royal Engineer, and a committed member of the Isle of Wight
community. Having built and run two successful businesses on the Island, I understand the real
pressures facing local people from rising costs to the need for reliable services and strong local
representation.
Before entering business, I served in the British Army with the Royal Engineers, where I developed
a strong work ethic, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead under pressure. My time
in the military took me around the world, including operational deployments, shaping my
disciplined and no-nonsense approach to challenges.
Since returning to civilian life, I have established myself in the local economy, working closely with
housing providers, councils, and private clients across the Isle of Wight. Alongside this, I operate
within the agricultural sector, supporting local landowners with land management, drainage, and
maintenance, giving me a clear understanding of the challenges facing farmers and rural
communities. Through this work, I have seen first-hand where systems work well and where they
fall short for residents.
I believe local government should be accountable, transparent, and focused on delivering results. I
understand the consequences of poor financial decisions and the importance of making every pound
of public money count. My experience managing budgets, staff, and contracts means I bring a
practical, business-minded approach to council decision-making.
If elected, I will focus on ensuring council services are fair, efficient, and responsive to residents’
needs. I will take a close interest in how council contracts are awarded and managed, ensuring
opportunities are accessible to local businesses and that public spending supports the Island’s
economy. I will also advocate for sensible planning decisions, including proper provision for private
parking in new developments to help reduce congestion and keep roads clear.
I am committed to listening to the community, standing up for local concerns, and working
constructively to get things done.
Rooted in the Island and invested in its future, I am standing to bring common sense, accountability,
and strong representation to local government.
