My life has largely been career-led in the Arts. I was fortunate to train in Fine Art in Florence, Italy,
and I went back to drawing professionally for commissioned portraits from the mid 2000’s. The
larger part of my working life, 22 plus years, was spent in the music industry as an international
Music and Arts publicist representing scores of Artists including Queen (10yrs), Whitney Houston
(9yrs), and David Bowie among many others.
So, Politics … Hmmm. I never envisaged Politics to come onto on my horizon; but I also never
envisaged our country being in such a dire predicament, even here.
The many issues affecting communities throughout the UK have been caused firstly by the
Conservatives and now by the abject mismanagement of the current Labour government.
Bembridge is incredibly fortunate compared to so many areas in the UK. Blessed with a wealth of
shops, village amenities, and a dedicated Parish Council, it provides leisure facilities for both
residents and visitors. It is a great place for us to live, although no-where is perfect.
I feel that Island-wide issues are more notable, which concern us all no matter where we live. The
obvious culprits being the pot-holes in our roads, the Ferries, and Southern Water. We are further
plagued by development in unsuitable locations, often without thought for local amenities or
accessibility for those who rely on public transport. This also stresses our road system, which
impacts tourism… There is a knock-on effect for every poor decision made at County Hall.
We need a strong Reform UK presence at the Council to prise the lid off and see what can change.
The deficit is shocking, as is the total debt owed too. We need new people to bring new solutions,
but we must be stoic; there will be no quick fix. Our Island is worth saving though, and as your
Councillor I will give it my all.
